600 Cherries Carried by Pigeon, Oil on Canvas, 30"x40"

This painting was inspired by the story of a government official in the late 900's who had 600 cherries delivered by pigeon from Turkey to Cairo for a ruler's dinner. The story says that each pigeon carried one cherry in a small silk bag.
